Virgil Abloh Previews Artwork With the Chicago Transit Authority
“Thin Red Line” rolls out across the city’s train system.

Upon opening the doors to his “Figures of Speech” exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Virgil Abloh extends his partnership with the city by teaming up with the Chicago Transit Authority. The multi-hyphenate took to Instagram to showcase a first look at his project titled “Thin Red Line,” which features artwork along the side of the L promoting “Figures of Speech.” The graphics include spray painted designs of the exhibit with the grim reaper, along with vinyls of key pieces from the exhibit which spans Abloh’s 20-year career in the art and fashion worlds. The public display can be seen now across the CTA’s red line trains.
Earlier this month, mocks of the artwork depicted four different works extending to separate cars on the train line.
