YOOX to Launch Environmental “Amendment x Yoox” Capsule

Last year, online fashion retailer YOOX, under the Net-A-Porter Group, commissioned a star-studded lineup of designers, like Vivienne Westwood and Kolor, for its SS18 “Soccer Couture” Capsule. This time, YOOX is returning with a capsule centered around sustainability.
The 10th anniversary of Yooxygen, the retailer’s initiative for promoting environmentally conscious fashion, is being graced with 11 unisex pieces designed by Marissa Petteruti, Parsons BFA Fashion Design graduate and the winner of the 2018 Yooxygen Award. Dubbed “Amendment x Yoox,” the capsule is comprised of graphic tees, lightly colored denim, hoodies, long-sleeves, chunky sneakers and deconstructed crewnecks. Majority of the pieces in the capsule are articulated and lined with zippered seams. One standout piece includes a blue drop-shoulder crewneck that’s been deconstructed to host detachable sleeves. Another highlighted garment is a denim jacket made from cuts of different jeans.
During production, materials like organic cotton and denim were put through an advanced laser treatment that helps reduce the number of wash cycles required as well as the use of certain chemicals. In a statement with WWD, Petteruti mentions: “It’s our responsibility to change our approach, integrating sustainability into production.”
The “Amendment x Yoox” capsule will be sold exclusively on YOOX starting May 16.
