John Elliott Shrouds Nike LeBron Icon QS in "Triple Black"
Taking the lifestyle sneaker undercover.
Once again, Nike joins occasional collaborator John Elliott to remix the mid-top LeBron Icon silhouette. Elliott’s preferred Nike silhouette to upgrade, this Quickstrike iteration has been tweaked with a muted “Triple Black” palette, emphasizing the sneaker’s textures and comfort-minded detailing.
Though the new sneakers are infinitely more understated than the forthcoming “Volt” variant, they’re no less covetable. Black leather and mesh co-mingle on the upper, with laces to match. This is underlined by a translucent green outsole, the only pop of color across the muted sneaker. The toe’s black Swoosh and tongue’s Nike branding reiterate the silhouette’s understated ethos, with John Elliott branding reserved exclusively for the insole – unsurprisingly, this is also rendered in a dark shade.
“The Icon has become part of my uniform,” Elliott told us. “It’s deeply ingrained in the brand, from the way we style our lookbooks, to how we live in Los Angeles. This version is versatile because the upper allows you to create a layered look depending on what socks you wear underneath, but the all black design is also stealthy. It’s one of those sneakers that’s like a Swiss Army Knife for your wardrobe, it works with almost anything.”
John Elliott’s “Triple Black” LeBron Icon hits Elliott’s LA flagship on May 22, 23 and 24 via limited drops accompanied by sets of tie-dyed socks. An online drop will then hit Elliot’s site on May 25. Take a closer look below.
