This Is How 'Dragon Ball' Fans Celebrated Goku Day 2019

On May 9, fans of Akira Toriyama‘s Dragon Ball celebrated the long-standing series’ titular character, Goku.
For years now, May 9 has been regarded as “Goku Day.” In Japanese, five (五) is pronounced “go” and nine (九) is pronounced “kyuu,” when put together May 9 (09/05) makes up “Goku.”
Fans on Twitter have been using the tag #悟空の日 (Goku no Hi or “Goku Day”) to share fan art they have created for the special day. Spotlighting original and iconic scenes of the protagonist, the artworks show the adoration of the character in all of his forms throughout the Dragon Ball universe. Additionally, Bandai Namco joined in on the celebration by posting a compilation video centered around the various forms of Goku found in Dragon Ball FighterZ scored by Field of View’s Dragon Ball GT opening theme, ”DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete ku.”
