As Peter returns to school.
It’s been four long months since the first official trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home dropped.
Warning: This post contains mild spoilers
Now that Avengers: Endgame has debuted in theaters, to record breaking proportions, Marvel Studios can once again shine light on what’s to become the final film of Phase Three. Going off of the first trailer and the new plot details and set photos that were shared in April, Spidey and his life-long enemy Mysterio (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) will be teaming up to battle against the Elementals. The Elementals are a group of villains comprised of Hydron (Lord of Waters), Magnum (Master of the Earth), Hellfire (Wielder of Flame) and Zephyr (Mistress of The Winds) and are found causing havoc in Europe during Peter’s high school trip.
With an emotional ending tied to Endgame, the Homecoming sequel will have some big shoes to fill as the final piece of the Third Phase. In the new trailer posted above, fans are given a better idea of what has happened post-Endgame. It has also been confirmed by Sony President Amy Pascal that Far From Home will take place “a few minutes” after the events of that film. So this will be interesting to see how the sequel will deal with Tony Stark’s passing and what happened to Peter’s friends during the snap, as well as why they are still in high school after five years have passed.
Far From Home lands in theaters July 2, 2019 and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, J.B. Smoove, and Jake Gyllenhaal. The film will also be specially formatted for IMAX theaters.
