McLaren has unveiled its much-anticipated GT model, showing the automotive world its first ever “lifestyle vehicle.” The engineers in McLaren’s facility have combined the space required to make the GT comfortable on long journeys with a V8 engine that’s good for 620 horsepowers, 203 mph and 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds.
The McLaren GT is made from a bespoke MonoCell II-T monocoque shell which incorporates a carbon fiber upper-rear structure. The design was developed around the GT ethos — everything from the height of the engine to the exhaust pipe positioning changed the amount of space inside the car, which is its most important function.
McLaren has opened orders for its all-new GT worldwide and expects the model to hit roads by the end of 2019. Pricing for the GT starts at $210,000 USD.
