'Game of Thrones' Releases a 19-Minute Behind-The-Scenes Video for "The Last of the Starks" Episode
Warning: spoilers ahead!
With the Battle of Winterfell concluding in episode three this season, Game of Thrones refocuses its attention to King’s Landing and the Iron Throne as the remaining forces fight for the right to rule the Seven Kingdoms in the latest episode of the epic HBO series. As the Last War is due for the final two episodes of the season — which Emilia Clarke has hinted will be huge — this past episode was nevertheless not quite the calm we expected before the storm, with major characters dying and allies seemingly starting to turn on each other.
To accompany the latest instalment, HBO has released a 19-minute behind-the-scenes video featuring interviews with core cast members such as Lena Headey (Cersei) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow, or should I say, Aegon Targaryen), as well as a segment for showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, who revealed that the duo made cameos during Tormund’s horn-drinking celebration scene in Winterfell. The two also highlighted the heartbreaking fact that many of the farewells and goodbyes the characters delivered weren’t just fictional, as some actually mark the end of an era for the cast members by concluding those character arcs.
