New Documentary Tells Story of Diego Maradona's Rise & Fall
Coming from the team behind ‘Senna’ & ‘Amy.’
The team behind award winning documentaries Senna and Amy has unveiled the first trailer for its latest project about Diego Maradona. Titled simply Diego Maradona, the new film tells the story of one of the greatest footballers of all time, showing the legendary player’s extraordinary rise, fall and redemption.
The Asif Kapadia-directed documentary was produced with cooperation from Maradona, and has been put together from more than 500 hours of previously unseen footage from the personal archive of Diego Maradona. The movie is set to be screened out of competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival before it releases on June 14. You can watch the first trailer for Diego Maradona above.
