One week after debuting the lineup for a Spring/Summer 2019 footwear collaboration with adidas, Raf Simons is setting sights on the label’s own Spring/Summer 2019 range for a forward-thinking new outerwear piece. Specifically, the luxury outfit is presenting an attention-grabbing, bold coat dubbed the Deconstructed Mixed-Media Coat.
Available in a solid black colorway, Raf Simons’ Deconstructed Mixed-Media Coat was produced using a blend of virgin wool mohair and polyamide, and comes in an oversized fit with drop shoulders. The Italian-manufactured item mixes a “black silky twill long-sleeve outerwear” item with three-quarter-length sleeves and a “black jersey oversized T-shirt” with a split rib-knit crewneck to create a new style; the “mixed-media” portion of the coat’s title is brought to life in that build, with encapsulates its creator’s take on what he considers to be “dramatic deconstructed” clothing. Rounding out the presentation’s unique material features: “tonal felted fabric” and “coated black gauze.”
You can take a look at Raf Simons’ new Deconstructed Mixed-Media Coat above, and head on over to the official Barneys New York website to pick up your own for $4,920 USD.
