Thom Browne has just presented his business-inspired RTW collection for Fall 2019 — intricately designed with recurring motifs on staple pieces.
The collection was showcased at an office with models ‘clocking in’ and going through routines at work in front of an old fashioned typewriter. Suitably matched with this setting, the business inspired ready-to-wear collection featured monochromatic hues of light brown, classic dark greys, black, and whites with subtle flairs of color here and there. Layering was also a common theme throughout, with long overcoats draped over sweaters and blazers.
One of the more notable looks from Thom Browne features a slightly oversized suit with a light blue and brown checked pattern. The overcoat is worn over a distressed blazer with a matching pattern, and in contrast, is paired with a mismatched vertically-striped pair of pants. Another notable piece is a tuxedo suit with a large scale graphic of Romaine Brooks, a 20th-century Parisian painter who specialized in grayscale paintings. The graphic of the painter was made from intricate pearls, a testament to Browne’s attention to detail.
