82-Year-Old "Skyrim Grandma" Immortalized as NPC in 'The Elder Scrolls VI'
You’re never too old.
The Elder Scrolls VI is not coming out anytime soon, but that hasn’t stopped Bethesda from teasing some behind-the-scenes footage of the ongoing production of the game. In celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary, a video was released confirming that 82-year-old Shirley Curry aka “Skyrim Grandma” — she’s a frequent streamer of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim — would be turned into an NPC for the sixth installment.
With close to 500,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, Shirley Curry’s devotion to the game along with her age piqued the curiosity of many gamers, leading to fans petitioning for her to become an NPC in The Elder Scrolls 6, last year. The buzz eventually caught the attention of Bethesda, and the rest is history.
Watch the video above for a look back at 25 years of The Elder Scrolls as well as some early development clips, and catch the renderings of “Skyrim Grandma” near the 8:40 mark.
