DJ Muggs & Mach-Hommy Enlist Tha God Fahim for "KOUIGN-AMANN"
Another single off ‘Tuez Les Tous.’
Last week, DJ Muggs and Mach-Hommy introduced their forthcoming collaborative album, Tuez Les Tous, with the release of a single known as “Stain Glass.” Now, the pair are serving up another preview of Tuez Les Tous; this time around, they’re teaming up with Mach-Hommy affiliate Tha God Fahim for a single dubbed “KOUIGN-AMANN.”
“This track came together on my kitchen table,” DJ Muggs tells us.” “I wanted to make something with an up-tempo swing and as the track began to reveal itself, a disjointed jazz locomotive materialized. I sent the track off to Mach and told him I think Fahim would be good on this track. The result is a futuristic, inventive run-away jazz train. When Mach-Hommy’s verse comes in the train grows wings and takes flight, creating a sonic force.”
“Whatever the diametric opposite of grossly misinformed is, that’s him,” Mach-Hommy previously explained to Billboard, opening up about his relationship with his iconic “KOUIGN-AMANN” collaborator DJ Muggs. “But what was most impressive is how he managed not to make any of the many preconceived moral value judgments about me, my creative process, or even my immediate circle, all the faux pas that many others before him had made up until then. But, you know, as they say much too often, real recognize real. He’s not afraid to teach and at the same he’s not afraid to learn as well.
