Sun Buddies & Carhartt WIP Deliver Bold Classics In Eyewear Capsule
Summer-loving shades inspired by the ’60s and ’70s.
Sun Buddies has teamed up with Carhartt WIP to rework three classic eyewear silhouettes for Spring/Summer 2019. Taking on the Shane, Juliette and Jean styles, Carhartt WIP has adapted vintage-inspired pieces with the modern WIP-consumer in mind.
Of the three frames, the Shane silhouette is the most classic of them all, seeing both solid black and tortoiseshell hit the hand made acetate frame.
The Juliette frame is a retro cat-eyed shape drawing inspiration from Bibi Andersson when she starred in Ingmar Bergman’s 1966 film, Persona. Seeing a daring clear red get-up as well as a classic solid gloss black look, the glasses are effortlessly classy and on-trend.
The collection is rounded off by the ’70s-inspired Jean silhouette, complete with a thin metal frame and finished in rose gold with yellow, soft blue and silver accents. Each of the six offerings is finished to Sun Buddies premium Swedish finish, and are fitted with 100% UV protective Carl Zeiss lenses.
The Sun Buddies collaboration is set to launch in Carhartt WIP stores on March 28.
