Bang & Olufsen's "Rise Above" Collection Features Raf Simons-Designed Accessories
Boasting a new color palette and Kvadrat fabric accessories.
Danish electronics label Bang & Olufsen has unveiled its full “Rise Above” collection for Spring/Summer 2019, complete with Raf Simons co-signed accessories. The capsule encompasses three different hardware styles, as well as two accessories constructed from Ria, a fabric designed by Simons as part of his ongoing collaboration with Danish textile brand Kvadrat.
The technology elements include the portable Beoplay A1 speaker, as well as the over-ear Beoplay H91 headphones and the in-ear Beoplay E6 earphones. All three are wireless. For this release, Bang & Olufsen is debuting a color palette inspired by the “unique beauty of the North.” For this, the brand has chosen three colors — “Clay,” “Pine,” and “Sky” — which represent the ground, forest and the sky respectively.
The Ria fabric from Raf Simons x Kvadrat is used on both a small earphone pouch to go with the Beoplay E6 and a headphone bag for the Beoplay H91.
Every element of the “Rise Above” collection is available now from the Bang & Olufsen web store. The headphones are priced at £450 GBP and £275 GBP (approx. $595 USD and $360 USD) for the Beoplay H91 and E6 respectively, while the Beoplay A1 speaker is available for £230 GBP (approx. $300 USD). The Raf Simons-designed fabric accessories are priced between £100 GBP and £40 GBP (approx. $130 to $50 USD).
