Chadwick Boseman to Star in Spike Lee & Netflix's Vietnam Veteran Drama
“A story about the redemption of one’s soul.”

The next Spike Lee joint, Da 5 Bloods, will focus on African American Vietnam veterans and is in talks to premiere on Netflix. Chadwick Boseman, Delroy Lindo, and Jean Reno are set to star in Lee’s upcoming film, which is slated to be written by the director himself and screenwriter Kevin Willmott.
The film reportedly follows a group of Vietnam veterans who “return to the jungle to find their lost innocence.” Deadline describes the film to be about “a group of vets who attempt to put their broken selves back together in a story about the redemption of one’s soul.”
Rumor has it that production is slated to begin as soon as next month after Lee wraps up his Oscar campaign on BlacKkKlansman, of which gained over 6 nominations including one for Lee as best director and one for best picture. Boseman’s Black Panther is up for best picture as well.
