Spike Lee Got a Custom Air Jordan 3 Just to Watch The Knicks
The blue and orange pair echo Spike Lee’s 2006 Air Jordan 4 collaboration and his 1989 Jordan Brand commercial.
Summary
- Jordan Brand has gifted Spike Lee a custom Air Jordan 3 to celebrate the Knicks historic entrance into the NBA Finals
- The bespoke design features a mismatched colorway, utilizing deep royal blue leather on the left shoe and bright orange on the right
Delivered exclusively to NYC icon Spike Lee ahead of Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the custom Air Jordan 3 “Knicks” silhouette was crafted specifically for the superfan.
Built on the classic foundation of elephant print overlays, the left shoe is rendered in a,deep royal blue leather, while the right shoe counterbalances it with a striking bright orange. Further, the lace tracks, midsole heel stabilizers, and signature Jumpman tongue embroideries alternate colors to directly contrast the primary leather paneling.
Replacing standard heel tabs, the lateral side of each shoe displays the Mars Blackmon logo — a direct nod to Lee’s earlier collaboration in 2006, with a red Air Jordan 4. However, Lee’s relationship with Jordan Brand goes all the way back to 1989, when the cinema icon starred in a commercial for the AJ4.
Packaged in a custom Knicks-inspired box with an accompanying orange shoe bag, the 1-of-1 pair was created solely for Lee’s courtside appearance. As of the time of writing, an official release of the custom Knicks Air Jordan 3 has not been confirmed.
