After releasing a teaser trailer earlier this week, EA Games and Academy Award-nominated director Neill Blomkamp now presents Conviction, a live-action short film based on the upcoming online multiplayer game, Anthem.

Set decades before the game begins, the short film offers an intriguing look into the game’s sci-fi world. The short film seemingly sets up questions that we expect to be answered in Anthem, with one character saying “The Anthem swims through your mind, it knows you, it knows us all.”

The post-dystopian CGI characters and gameplay is a stark contrast to the Greek empire setting seen depicted in the film, subsequently making for an enigmatic storyline and endless exploring opportunities.

Anthem receives its global release on February 22 for Origin for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can check out more about Anthem here.

In other gaming news, check out this rare first edition of Super Mario Bros that sold for $100,000 USD.
