Solange Creates a Profile on Social Media Site BlackPlanet
Could new music be on the way?
Solange took to Twitter to share her new profile page on BlackPlanet, a social media platform launched in 1999 for people of color. The main page for her new site is a looped video of three Black women in a bank vault. You can also find show dates of her upcoming European tour, a form to subscribe to her newsletter, her dossier, plus a photobook containing dozens of pictures. Looking through all the information, some fans are suspecting that a new album is on the way and Houston, her hometown, is the central theme.
Last October, Solange sat down for an interview and it was implied that a new album was dropping last Fall but a release date was never confirmed. She described the new LP, saying “There is a lot of jazz at the core.” She added, “But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.”
Her previous album, A Seat at the Table, was released in 2016.
