Mereba Relays Emotionally-Layered Dynamism in 'The Jungle is the Only Way Out'
The debut album from the rising Atlanta star.

Interscope signed artist and Spillage Village collective co-founder Mereba has dropped her long-anticipated and highly-warranted debut album, The Jungle is the Only Way Out, further highlighting emotionally-layered dynamism via carefully crafted singing, rapping, songwriting, production, and instrumentation.
In many ways Mereba is showcasing the emergence of a New Atlanta, fusing traditional soundscapes in a uniquely updated and renovated style. She has retained herself as a Renaissance purveyor, channeling her talents into a groove-ridden career that sees her taking part in all aspects of her projects that further spotlights her mature taste. The new 13-track album is nothing short of a spectacle, laced with spoken word interludes that help in transmitting her debut project to niche profiles while still retaining commercial flare. Included in the album are some well-placed features from 6LACK on “Heatwave” and J.I.D. on “Sandstorm,” but where the artist really shines is in qualitative cuts like “Planet U” and “Black Truck;” tracks where her ability as a rapper, singer, and producer effortlessly strikes listeners with emotionally well-crafted swiftness.
