Netflix's 'The OA' Returns After Two Long Years
Riz Ahmed, Paz Vega and Vincent Kartheiser join the cast.
It’s finally back. After waiting two long years, Netflix has just announced the return of The OA with an official trailer.
The Netflix Original sci-fi series first made its debut back in December of 2016 and had the Internet blowing up with theories on what the mysterious show was all about. Helmed by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the duo behind the indie flicks Sound of My Voice and The East, The OA centers around a woman named Prairie aka “the OA,” played by Marling, who has returned to her home after being missing for years. On top of that, the once blind Prairie has also mysteriously regained her sight.
According to the streaming giant, The OA Part II picks up as OA begins her journey in a new dimension, seeing as the new trailer kicks off with Prairie waking up in an alternate reality. Alongside newcomer Karim Washington, who plays a private detective, the duo set out to find a missing teen, Michelle Vu. Back in the non-alternate reality, her friends, BBA, Angie and the boys, are trying to make sense of life without her.
The second season will also star Riz Ahmed, Paz Vega, Vincent Kartheiser, Sheila Vand and Irene Jacob. Look for The OA Part II to air March 22 on Netflix.
