J.I.D Joins Mereba to Wax Poetic About Lost Loves on Powerful New Duet, "Sandstorm"
Off her forthcoming ‘The Jungle Is The Only Way Out’ LP.
Nearly a month after he teamed up with Compton rapper Boogie for the “Soho” video, Dreamville star J.I.D links up with Mereba for a new duet and collaborative single dubbed “Sandstorm.” This latest offering from Mereba and J.I.D is being released in support of the former artist’s upcoming album The Jungle Is The Only Way Out, and isn’t the first time the pair have come together for a record; Mereba previously joined J.I.D for a song off his own debut studio album, 2017’s The Never Story. Mereba also worked with J.I.D and his Dreamville cohorts EarthGang on a high-profile remix of “Rolling Stoner,” the intro-track for her 2013 project Room for Living.
“Again with the alchemy … gold comes every time we put our heads together bruva JID,” Mereba shared on Instagram, revealing her thoughts on her latest release. J.I.D also took to Twitter yesterday evening to tease and hint at the release of “Sandstorm,” revealing that he had “something special” for his fans.
“Good god, these n***as is crazy, Just fight the feeling, it’s all we do / Inside, it’s killing me, baby / Outside I’m-cucumber cool,” J.I.D and Mereba croon during the chorus of “Sandstorm. “We might just really be crazy / We might just-She might just.”

Towards the end of last year, J.I.D and J. Cole reconnected for the Cole Bennett-directed “Off Deez” visual.
