Vans Recruits Ashley Williams for Vibrant Collaboration
Upgrading classic silhouettes with unmissable detail.
London-based designer Ashley Williams has joined forces with Vans to create a vibrant collection featuring the brand’s all-time favorite silhouettes.
Those models includes the Vans Authentic, Era, Slip-On, and Style 93 all designed in their own unique style. Those features includes wild piercing, newsletter print, vase and tiger print, and buckle straps.
London’s Ashley Williams has quickly established herself as a name to watch, with fans flocking towards her defiant graphics and accessible layering pieces. Vans took note and tapped the young creative for a quartet of elevated skate silhouettes.
Encompassing the Authentic, Era, Slip-On and Style 93, the collaborative collection upgrades each model with a bevy of new detailing. For instance, the Authentic sports a familiar monochrome colorway, undermined by dangling metal accents inspired by septum piercings, with branded laces rounding out the package. Meanwhile, the Era boasts a wild blend of pink tiger strips and silhouetted shapes on the toebox and heel, completed with red laces and checkered co-branding on the midsole.
Comparatively understated, the Slip-On sports an all-over print that recalls old advertisements in newspapers or comic books, with small slogans proclaiming “DON’T KNOW, DON’T CARE,” and “buy or die.” Finally, the rugged Style 93 offers the familiar chunky outsole and rubber toecap in matching black, with a black-and-orange tiger stripe pattern on the canvas upper.
Though Williams only recently began offering menswear, it has yet to be announced what sizes will be available for each style. Still, expect them to hit Vans’ website and Williams’ stockists on March 1.
