TOKiMONSTA Returns With Melodious Single "Love That Never"
Alongside a visual from Sydney-based studio Babekühl.
Following her Grammy-nominated project Luna Rouge, LA-based electronic musician TOKiMONSTA has returned with a brand new single and animated visual titled “Love That Never.” After suffering immense memory loss following a tragic battle with moyamoya disease in 2015, Toki went on to reclaim herself musically – she released the Grammy-nodded project, her Young Art Records’ compilation Young Art Sound II, as well as resumed her rigorous festival schedule around the world.
Within the new single, she hones in on her classic take on the genre — a feel-good anthem that’s filled with meticulously-tuned chord progressions, relaxed drums, and side-chained melodies. “Entering a new stage of my life, I realized how multifaceted love is. It is this beautiful overwhelming sensation that fills us up, but can also leave us empty and bare,” she shared via press release. “This song is a personal reminder that if we foster our own intangible love, we will always be fulfilled.”
The visual, directed by Sydney-based studio Babekühl hones in on these motifs, offering up pastel-hues and euphoric visuals to aid in carrying forth the track’s underlying themes.
