The SEVENth Shares Visual for House-Heavy "Dey Dreamin'" Single
The latest from the AGO member.
AGO member and artist The SEVENth has returned with a new Alex Tollis-directed music video for his single “Dey Dreamin’.” Filmed in the artist’s hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, the video “captures the essence of lineage, the footprint we leave on Earth, and how we can work towards both.” He channels this through interpreting his own life as a youth, and how a children’s book inspired and influenced his day-to-day life in the present as a musician and a new father.
Sonically, the track remains an ode to Michigan’s long-standing history with house and dance music. It features a dynamic uptempo filled with disco hints and contemporary sampling, skittering synths, and more. In a press release, The SEVENth shared “When writing this song, it was more so of a positive affirmation, or a pick-me-up kinda idea. Also, I gave a head nod to ODB of Wu-Tang Clan with me repeating the verses. He did that on ‘Shimmy Ya.’”
