Latest 'Final Fantasy VII' Remake Trailer Showcases Cloud's Backstory
Premiering at The Game Awards 2019.
Square Enix debuted a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake at this year’s The Game Awards, showcasing the backstory of the title’s protagonist, Cloud. The footage above tracks the mysterious Cloud and his reluctant mission with the underground resistance group, Avalanche. It also traces his childhood friendship with Avalanche member Tifa, who alongside the group is struggling to save the planet from the clandestine Shinra Electric Company.
Alongside the trailer, Square Enix also announced that North American players who pre-order the title through either GameStop, EB Games, Best Buy, Walmart, or Amazon will receive unique exclusives to each retailer.
GameStop and EB Games offers an exclusive Shinra Key Card and Collectible Tin Box for Standard and Deluxe Editions pre-orders. Best Buy pre-orders offer an exclusive bundle featuring the Deluxe Edition along with additional merchandise including a Canvas Pouch and Metallic Stickers for $99.99 USD. Buying the Standard Edition from Walmart comes with three double-sided art cards. Lastly, Amazon offers a PlayStation Network theme of Sephiroth’s ket art when pre-ordered.
