The streets and the airport demand two sets of gear, yet frequent travellers very rarely have the time or space to accommodate both. Cue Hong Kong-based brand Subtle’s newly released AFAR carry-on suitcase, which has the ability to transform into a rucksack whenever the situation arises.
To convert the suitcase, unzip the rear pocket, flip and secure it over the wheels, and deploy the shoulder straps within to clip to the external D-rings. Inside the top compartment a laptop pocket allows for quick access to gadgets, while the 1,000-denier weatherproof tarpaulin construction offers durable protection against rain, dirt and abrasion outside. Zinc alloy slide buckles and an aluminium alloy telescopic handle round out this functional design.
Available in Obsidian and Malachite colorways, the AFAR suitcase can be found at the Subtle online store for $280 USD.
