Obongjayar Announces New EP 'Which Way Is Forward?' & Shares "Still Sun"
The forward-thinking artist will begin 2020 with a new project.
Throughout 2019, Obongjayar has built up a solid reputation as a multi-talented, forward-thinking musician, contributing a variety of sounds and styles to records from Danny Brown, Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Ibeyi, Giggs and Wiki. Now, further cementing his spot at the forefront of contemporary music, the fast-rising artist is revealing plans for a new EP and introducing the project by serving up its lead single. Notably, Obongjayar’s Which Way Is Forward? will see release towards the beginning of next year courtesy of September recordings; for our first taste and preview of it, Obongjayar is unveiling a new track titled “Still Sun” — which also comes with a Duncan Loudon-directed visualizer.
“Which Way Is Forward? is a project about love, family, self empowerment and self belief,” Obongjayar shares via an official press statement, revealing the themes of his forthcoming project. “It’s a mirror that allows you to look inward, to understand trauma, to heal. It’s a project about mustering the strength – the strength to get up and clean house.”
