Corey King Reflects on Life & Death in Atmospheric Album 'A Loveless Sunken Sun'
Seven tracks acting as a testament to the power of angst to foster growth.
Multi-instrumentalist Corey King has dropped off his expansive new project, A Loveless Sunken Sun. Acting as a testament to the power of angst to foster growth, the seven-track project is a product of the artist facing the extremities of life and death — specifically the birth of his son and the death of his grandmother while he was on tour.
The Texas-born, New York-based musician takes a more experimental route with the latest project, utilizing synths, drum machines and programming alongside live band characteristics. Taking a deep dive into his influences, King fuses elements of electronic, krautrock and afrobeat music to craft a relatable yet personal project.
