Burberry Adds TB-Monogrammed E-Canvas to Chunky Arthur Sneaker
The fall-ready model gets a heritage-indebted rework.
Burberry has dropped a new TB-monogrammed iteration of its runway sneaker, the Arthur. The sneaker follows on from last week’s release, which saw a bold red pair featuring tactical nylon and suede hit the shelves.
This time around, the Riccardo Tisci-designed sneaker-boot features an upper made from e-canvas — Burberry’s environmentally conscious fabric that is primarily made using renewable resources — and wears an all-over TB monogram print.
Burberry has also capped the silhouette with a polished overshoe that is inspired by rain boots. The 100% polyurethane sole unit is a step into the vis-tech category for the esteemed British fashion house, as it sports a unique, chunky-lugged outsole and hollow compartments in its midsole.
The heel of the Arthur is slightly raised — making the shoe much like a sneaker-boot offering — and is finished with embossed Burberry branding in contrasting white lettering at the rear. Rounding off the chunky sneaker is a TB logo on the front toe, a rubberized Burberry plaque on the tongue, webbing along the vamp, tongue and heel, as well as webbing used for the shoe’s eyelets.
