Soulja Boy Signs New Deal With Warner/Chappell Music
Dropping his album’s first single “Intro” to commemorate.
If you asked somebody early last year if they’ve heard of Soulja Boy, they’d probably reference a high school dance where “Crank Dat” was readily rinsed out to youthful fans. But now, after a hot streak of PR-moves that has shot Big Draco back into the mainstream spotlight, you’d probably reference the virality of the rapper’s outrageously intriguing image.
Now, the return of the rap-mogul-to-be extraordinaire has been solidified with the artist signing a new deal with Warner/Chappell Music, commemorating the moment by dropping the first single titled “Intro,” from his forthcoming album How Could You Blame Me?.
Big Draco took to Instagram to share varying images of him inking the deal and popping bottles of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate the new life milestone. In the post, Soulja writes “It’s official I’m now signed to Warner/Chappell I’m the hottest rapper in the game facts.” With Warner Music Group having deals with hip-hop’s top artists, we could very well be seeing the revival of Soulja’s career with a strong team behind him.
The new video for “Intro” is clearly in celebration of the recent achievement, with the rapper flowing over the hard-hitting beat as he shows off racks of cash and brand-heavy designer clothing, saying “I just signed a new deal” as an ad-lib throughout the track.
What do you think about the big moves for the iconic rapper? Let us know, and look out for his upcoming album How Could You Blame Me? dropping July 28.
