Dr. Romanelli & Modernica Team up for a Set of Chairs Made from Vintage Champion Sweatshirts
Patchwork seating.

In his quest to give second-hand/vintage textiles a renewed purpose, Dr. Romanelli has released some intricate clothing and works of art. This time, DRx is back to his signature ways, but applying his techniques to home furniture. Working off Modernica‘s Side Shell chair, Dr. Romanelli sourced a number of vintage Champion sweatshirts and deconstructed each of them to then meticulously cover the chairs in patchwork form.
The chairs each take on different colors based on the sweaters used, and no two are alike. Coming in the jumbled colors of red, turquoise, blue, orange, green and burgundy, the chairs also incorporate patch and embroidery details left over from their days as sweatshirts. No word yet on pricing or when they collection of chairs will be available, but stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, check out Dr. Romanelli’s Instagram below to see the original vintage Champion sweatshirts that were used for these chairs.
