The artist has been posthumously nominated for Best Rap Album.

Mac Miller tragically passed away from an overdose in early September of last year, however his memory and talent still live on, seeing as the late artist has been posthumously nominated for this year’s 2019 GRAMMY Awards.
According to TMZ, to accept the award should he win, Miller’s parents, Karen Meyers and Mark McCormick, will attend the ceremony next month on his behalf. Miller is up for Best Rap Album for his Swimming LP, which he released in August 2018. Marking the first GRAMMY nomination for artist, Miller is also up against Pusha T for DAYTONA, Nipsey Hussle for Victory Lap, Cardi B for Invasion of Privacy and Travis Scott for Astroworld.
Miller’s family recently partnered with Pittsburgh Foundation to start the Mac Miller Circles Fund, seeing over more than $700,000 USD donations having already been made. The donations will go towards supporting the underprivileged youth of Pittsburgh in areas such as education and arts.
The 2019 GRAMMY Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
