The Internet Reacts to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Stunning 500th Career Goal
Messages from both Pogba and Beckham included.
Football great Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 500th career goal over the weekend during his team’s fixture against Toronto FC. In true Zlatan style, the footballer used his signature acrobatics, seeing a kind-of-karate-kick strike to secure his landmark goal. Even though LA Galaxy went on to lose 5-3 against Toronto, this had no impact in dampening Zlatan’s mood. “It’s not the first time I’ve gotten a standing ovation from the away team,” he said, after Toronto fans applauded his stunning strike. “Obviously, it’s not good to lose … but I’m happy for Toronto because they’ll be remembered as my 500th victim.”
Ibrahimovic retired from international competition following the 2016 EURO Cup. The 36-year-old has participated in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups scoring 62 goals in 116 games for his country. Ibrahimovic left Manchester United to join LA Galaxy and has made a great start to his career in the States. Take a look at his goal and Internet reactions, including messages from Paul Pogba and David Beckham, below.
