David Robert Joseph Beckham is a British former professional soccer player, businessman, model and spokesman. Widely known for his professional career as a high profile footballer, Beckham’s achievements extend to other industries of multinational corporations and fashion as well, having made many endorsement deals and having been spokesman for companies like IBM, Pepsi Co., Diet Coke, Burger King, Samsung, Walt Disney Co. and Coca-Cola. Also known as a fashion and style icon, he has made endorsements for fashion companies like Breitling, H&M, and Armani. Beckham was named one of GQ’s 50 best dressed British men in 2015. Together with his wife Victoria, the Beckhams are recognized as a cultural tour-de-force, having collaborated with all aspects of the fashion industry. Beckham has appeared on the covers of numerous magazines including W and Details. Beckham launched a collection of fragrances and aftershave products called David Beckham Instinct, and in 2007, he was paid $13.7 million USD to release the fragrances in the U.S. In 2003 Beckham partnered with adidas in a $160 million USD lifetime contract that allows him to earn profit percentages on all of his adidas products, with nearly half of the money paid to him upfront. In 2011, Beckham released an eau de toilette fragrance called Homme by David Beckham. In 2015, Beckham appeared as the male model for his men’s underwear collection Bodywear for H&M campaign.
