The Weeknd may very likely be a household name in music, but surprisingly, the Toronto crooner has not made a number one record until today. While he peaked at number 2 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 with “Earned It” from Fifty Shades of Grey, Abel finally lands his first No. 1 record with the Max Martin-produced “Can’t Feel My Face” — the second single off his Beauty Behind the Madness sophomore album. On his achievement, The Weeknd shares:
“It’s an honor to be a part of such a great team like Republic Records and to collaborate and learn from such a seasoned producer [and writer] like Max Martin.”
Keep an eye out for his album, which arrives on August 28.
