It looks like Smokepurpp won’t be Smokepurpp for much longer. In the latest episode of Open Late, the Miami rapper reveals that he is going to change his name to Purpp. “I’m actually gonna change it to just ‘Purpp’ soon. I wanna drop the ‘Smoke’ out of my name,” he told Peter Rosenberg. “People just called me ‘Smokepurpp’ or ‘Lil Purpp,’ but there’s too many lil’s, so I kind of just want to be ‘Purpp.’”

Smokepurpp isn’t the only rapper to tease a possible name change. Friend and frequent collaborator Lil Pump also revealed that he might change his rap moniker into something else. “My new name is Jet Ski, OK?” he said in an Instagram video in April. “Don’t call me Lil Pump, call me Jet Ski.”

Watch the interview above and stay tuned to find out whether he’s going to actually change his rap name. In related music news, listen to Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti’s new collaboration, “Big Bank.”
