LA-based Subliminal Projects and NYC-based FACTION Art Projects are organizing a bi-coastal group show entitled “Visual Language.” The extensive presentation sheds a light on the “various approaches to the use of words and images in art and Western Culture,” as per a statement. Celebrated artists from across the globe will showcase their works, including Shepard Fairey, Jenny Holzer, Guerrilla Girls, Betty Tomkins, DFace, Ed Ruscha, Nathaniel Russell, Chad Kouri, Scott Albrecht, Ramsey Dau, Wayne White and Umar Rashid.

“The tone of the works gathered in Visual Language reflects each artist’s diversity, ranging from political, ironic, poetic, typographic, and abstract,” said the organizers. ”In each gallery the artworks will work in parallel or collaboratively, while others will juxtapose and subvert, offering a strong critical frame through which to view contemporary culture in this period of “fake news” and “alternative facts.”

View select works above and expect “Visual Language” to launch at Subliminal Projects this September 8 and FACTION Art Projects on September 13. Both shows will be on view until October 6. In other art news, acclaimed photographer Ryan McGinley has launched a new show entitled “Mirror, Mirror.”
