'Shenmue 3' Gets Official Trailer & Release Date
The culmination of the series.
With SEGA’s Shenmue I & 2 having just re-released, the Japanese company has now confirmed the release date for the third installment in the series. Shenmue 3 is due to drop in almost exactly a year, making it 20 years since the first game released and 18 since the arrival of the second game.
To announce the new game — which is being worked on by Yu Suzuki and a small team of SEGA veterans — a new trailer has been released. The clip features Lan Di, the series’ main antagonist, and hints that the showdown the last two games were building towards could be set to occur in Shenmue 3. Take a look at the trailer in above, and expect the game to arrive on August 27 next year.
In other entertainment news, the original voice of Solid Snake is set to return for Metal Gear’s 31st anniversary.
