Missy Elliott's First Written Single Was Actually for 'That's So Raven' Star Raven-Symoné
We were also surprised.
Ever wonder what rap legend Missy Elliott‘s first written single was? No, it isn’t anything on her glorious 1997 debut LP, Super Dupa Fly. In fact, the rapper’s first penned jam was for The Cosby Show and That’s So Raven actress Raven-Symoné. The track, titled “That’s What Little Girls Are Made Of,” was cut from Raven’s 1993 debut album, Here’s To New Dreams, and features production credits from both Missy and Chad Elliott.
Ayyyyye!!!!! This the first record I ever wrote for a artist🙋🏾 big up lil Raven! https://t.co/2MDvsiXAp5

The single’s music video sees a much younger Raven (no Missy unfortunately) flexing her emcee skills in various urban settings, in the most ’90s way possible, of course. Click above for your daily fix of nostalgia, then check out Skepta’s retro-tinged music video for “Hypocrisy.”
