Maison Margiela Unveils New Haphazard Retro Fit Sneakers for FW18
Crafted from house codes established by Creative Director John Galliano.
Known as a fashion house with a penchant for the unusual, Maison Margiela recently unveiled its latest footwear option, the Retro Fit sneaker.
Crafted from the house codes established by Creative Director John Galliano, the upcoming athleisure shoes feature a done-undone look and feel like the released divisive glue-covered Fusion Sneaker. Available in both high and low top iterations, the unisex Retro Fit sneakers express themes of time and recollection evoking the silhouette of trainers accented by haphazard distressing. Drawing from various footwear models, most notably snowboarding boots the shoes serve as a display of Maison Margiela’s artisinal term, Décortiqué, a reduction of an article to its core and Anonymity of the Lining in the reveal of the hidden spongy interior lining.
