"Czech One" Is King Krule's First New Music Since 2013
Is a new album on its way?
London’s multi-talented Archy Marshall has been busy over the self-imposed hiatus of his King Krule alias, producing for Earl Sweatshirt under the name Edgar the Beatmaker, dropping an album and book under his real name and collaborating with Mount Kimbie. Now, Marshall has finally returned to the King Krule project and released his first new music under the name since 2013, with “Czech One” featuring the classic laidback delivery and jazz-inflected music of older King Krule releases.
The track is on streaming sites now, with a seven-inch vinyl edition also available for pre-release from the XL Records web store. There’s no news yet about whether this means there’s an upcoming album from Marshall, but the physical release does also feature “Dum Surfer” — another previously unheard track.
As well as the release of the new record, Archy Marshall also recently revealed why his much-rumored collaboration with Frank Ocean has never been released.
