Blue Skies is a documentary by Jon E Price that profiles the upcoming music talents considered to be London’s next wave of jazz artists. Made up of NK OK (Namali Kwaten) and Mr DM (David Mrakpor), the two combine to form Blue Lab Beats. Growing up in the melting pot of London and listening to a variety of music including grime, hip hop, neo-soul, and even Carribean music — it’s no surprise that the duo prefer to not be categorized into a single genre. The documentary follows the two as they make their way to a soulful jam session with musicians from collectives such as Theon Cross, Sumo Chief, and the Ezra Collective. To get a full understanding of the exciting sounds coming out of London, check out the video above.
