Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire are known for having a flair for the dramatic and being vigorously passionate performers, therefore, it should come as no surprise that the idiosyncratic group is releasing an innovative film documenting their stark creative process. Titled The Reflektor Tapes, the film is directed by Khalil Joseph, the man responsible for such works as Flying Lotus’ Until The Quiet Comes and Kendrick Lamar’s m.A.A.d. The feature-length film is said to be a “unique cinematic experience, meeting at the crossroads of documentary, music, art and personal history.” Last month, Arcade Fire released a short clip from the project and today we have the first official trailer that shows unseen performance footage, as well as intimate interviews. The film is set to release to select theatres worldwide on September 24, visit the film’s official website to find a theater near you and have a look at the trailer above.
