adidas Originals Connects Its Past and Present In the POD-S3.1 Summer Lookbook
Unarchiving the EQT Cushion 2 from 1995.

Following last month’s announcement, adidas Originals released its new Point of Deflection (POD) colorways for the summer season. Engineered with an archived EQT Cushion 2 from 1995, the POD-S3.1 features a two-tone black-and-white colorway that’s reminiscent of the NMD and the UltraBOOST silhouettes. The archived pieces translates the combination of paying an homage to the brand’s past while reimagining and focusing moving forward to the future.
The amalgamated sneaker also includes a knitted textile upper reinforced by structural overlays on the outsole, in addition to a BOOST unit in the heel, a high-rebound EVA forefoot, and the Torsion™-inspired Point of Deflection bridge that unites all three components.
The lookbook takes us to the hot and hazy city capturing the combination of nostalgia and fluid movement that characterizes the POD-S3.1. Driven by a pursuit of what SVP of Global Design Nic Galway describes as “the unusual or the forgotten” design, the new silhouette is based on flexibility and natural motion formed from a frankenstein of past components reconstituted via POD-S3.1.
