Troy Ave speaks through the rhymes.
For the first time ever since his arrest just a few weeks ago for attempted murder, Troy Ave is addressing the night of the shooting – but through a mixtape. Titled Free Troy Ave, the Brooklyn rapper tells his side of the story of what happened that night across a trio of tracks: “Intro (Troy Ave Speaks/Freestyle)”; “Intermission (Troy Ave Speaks)”; and “Outro (Troy Ave Speaks).”
“P****y n**** tried to assassinate me / I took the gun from him and turned the tables ’round like a G,” he says, suggesting his actions were in self defense.
