Instagram has planned several changes as of late and the latest one is a big one. According to the Wall Street Journal, long-form video content will be a future goal, with an upper limit of an hour. The focus will be on vertical video and would be a severe change from the current minute-long time limit.
The plans are tentative at the moment, with Instagram holding conversations with creators and publishers about the possibility of creating longer content for the platform. The move would see Instagram move into YouTube’s territory, which is still the most used online platform used by teenagers. There’s no word on when the rollout would happen, but it would be within the app.
