Ryan Gosling Takes His First Steps on the Moon as Neil Armstrong in 'First Man'
Directed by Damien Chazelle.
In late 2016, it was announced that actor Ryan Gosling would be taking on the pivotal role of Neil Armstrong in the Damien Chazelle-directed biopic. Now the first trailer for First Man has arrived, taking a look back at one of the biggest cultural moments in history: the first man to walk on the moon. The film will center around Ryan Gosling’s Neil Armstrong during the time period of 1961-1969, telling a broader story of NASA’s madcap mission to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade.
The debut trailer gives fans a glimpse at several key moments in Armstrong’s life, including the obstacles he had to face in order to become the first man on the moon. First Man is an adaptation of James Hansen’s 2005 biography, First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong and will also star Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, and Claire Foy as Armstrong’s wife Janet. Academy Award winning director Damien Chazelle has also helmed the Oscar winning films Whiplash and La La Land. Check out the trailer above.
