Aphex Twin Is Dropping a Brand New Project Next Month
Richard D. James announces ‘Cheetah’ out of the blue.

Ever since Richard D. James made an unexpected, triumphant return after 13 years with 2014’s Syro, the man behind Aphex Twin has kept up the output, dropping a ton of tracks on SoundCloud along with last year’s Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2 EP. Now, after mysterious teasers surfaced earlier this week, James has officially introduced his next project. Dubbed Cheetah, the seven-track EP will be released digitally and on vinyl, CD, and cassette via Warp and “uses digital sound generation techniques combined with wave sequencing technology to bring you sounds with movement and depth rarely found on records today.”
A full tracklist appears below while more information on the project can be found via its dedicated website. Cheetah is due out July 8 and can be pre-ordered now via Bleep.
