Patek Philippe watches often end up at auction but this version was always touted as a potential high-seller. This ref. 2526 is signed by Tiffany & Co and selling in fresh-to-market condition, as well as a matching platinum bracelet. In addition to the watches qualities the auction house selling the model, Heritage Auctions, also installed a unique method of selling.

The house listed the watch both online and in-person, leaving the online portion open for a month. This made the final live-auction have an increased amount of interest which, in turn, saw the watch sell for $642,500 USD. The last ref. 2526 to sell for such a high price was in December 2017, when a model with a white gold case & bracelet, silvered dial and baton and diamond hour markers sold for $325,000 USD.

In related news, Bamford Watch Department recently joined forces with TAG Heuer on the Bamford Monaco.
