The Nike Cortez Gets a Tranquil Japanese-Inspired Makeover
Featuring a black “Koinobori” carp.
After releasing custom PUMA Suedes late last month, sneaker customizers The Flying Hawk Studio, and once again in conjunction with Simple Union, have this time recreated Nike‘s classic Cortez silhouette.
Just like the PUMA Suede, the Cortez has been hit with traditional Japanese elements on the Swooshes such as a black “Koinobori” carp, which is a symbol of Japan’s auspicious Antai. The carp also signifies the greatness of all fathers. The minimal white uppers are then finished off with a Japanese antique accessory crafted from cloth, beads, and a leather strap.
Interested fans of this custom pair of Nike Cortez “Koinobori,” you can pre-order your pair now over at The Flying Hawk Studio between Saturday, May 5 until Sunday, May 13.
